Received my 18650 tube today.

I was very surprised at the lack of quality considering it was a Fivemega product.
Always enjoyed my other Fivemega products.
The rim at the top of the treads is very sharp and jagged at certain points.
I wouldn't feel comfortable screwing any of my Surefire heads on this thing.
Very disappointing to say the least.

Please read post #109 here.
As you see, material left under threads are very tiny because inside bore is large enough to fit new fatter 3400 batteries.
To solve this problem, there are 3 choices:
1- bore the inside for tinier batteries such as 17670 (similar to stock bodies) which has half the capacity of newer 18650
2- Load batteries from tail side which in this case, you will need tail cap. See
here.
3- Use stronger material such as stainless steel. See
here.

Nothing above pertains to my complaint.
#1- how will boring the inside for tinier batteries help?
#2- The tube I purchased from you is one piece, impossible to load from tail.
#3- it's a link for a different tube completely.

Post#109 has nothing to do whatsoever with my issue.

No worries, lesson learned. I will never ever order another product from you.

Well, to be fair you misunderstood fivemega's points. They were not about how to repair your defective item, rather it was an explanation why chances for this item to be defective were high. And which of 3 other items we would want to consider if we wanted better QA.

One the other hand, for me it leaves the question open whether it is OK for someone to sell something knowing of its inferior quality.

if I were the "buyer" ...
in less time than needed for typing the rant post, I would have used sanding paper on the body and fixed that "issue"

If I knowingly sell the product without explaining the weak part and hiding from buyer, then you would be right.
I explained why I am not interested to make more of this type of item several times and linked to more robust similar item but more people insist wanting this particular item. See
here.

Good point. But if I were the buyer, I would nicely ask seller to exchange it and solve the problem rather than trashing the thread !

As a seller myself, I always make it a point to disclose any issues that there may be with said product.

So if I'm not caught up on all your other threads, how am I suppose to know about the " lack of being robust "?
Have you ever considered adding a disclaimer to this sales thread? Expecting a buyer to know about issues posted on another thread is just unfair.
Had I known, I probably would have gone with one of your other products.

My reason for posting wasn't to "trash" your sales thread. I wanted to show fellow CPF'rs what to possibly expect if purchasing this body since you failed to mention anything whatsoever regarding issues with this tube on this thread.

I'm not interested in waiting another 10 days just for an exchange. I'll keep my 61.00 tube and maybe "sand it" as someone suggested.

I have nothing further to say, best of luck.
