  1. I have limited quantity of these incandescent flashlights ready to use.
  2. These were made several years ago and I just had a chance to assemble and make them ready.
  3. These are similar to E head with bi-pin installed, turbo head built in, FM1794 installed and Penta McClicky installed and ready to use after you install your own batteries.
  4. Please note that these are not E compatible. Finned head and knurled body is CNC machined from one piece solid aluminum bar.
  5. You can also choose other type of available tail cap. (Price might be different)
  6. What you will receive is pictured complete 2x18350 or 2x18500 complete flashlight with one installed FM1794 bulb.

The switch in that, is it an option A or option B style?
Switch is McClicky and serviceable. Not compatible with either style.
-----------------------
Does that penta ring come off ? I would rather a plain round tailcap, like the "E Head".
There is no removable ring but you can replace it with any other available option here and pay or deduct price difference.
-----------------------
I am also interested if the penta can be removed? if not, can you offer those with the round mcclicky tailcaps and how this would affect the prices?
You can choose any other available tail cap here and pay or deduct price difference. Or get without tail cap and use any other C compatible tail cap.
------------------------
Is the 2x18500 body compatible with 3 18350 and therefore with the FM 1.5mm 2amp 11 volt 22 watt custom xexon "Axial" Bulb?
Yes, 3 18350 will fit and work well with mentioned bulb but run time will be shorter.
------------------------
How many spare bulbs I could buy with the purchase of one body?
You can buy as many as you wish
------------------------
Is the head compatible with 1 inch SF diffusers such as F04?
I don't have one to try but for your information, bezel/reflector is from Strion.
------------------------
who said:
Is the head removable?
These are not E compatible.
Finned head and knurled body is CNC machined from one piece aluminum bar and not removable.
E compatible bodies are available
here.

------------------------
How aggressive is the knurling?. Is it the same (or less than) the current 18650 E bodies?. Thank you.
These bodies have less aggressive knurling than 1x18650 E and 2x18500 E bodies.
------------------------
Is this host compatible with the new maglite bipin bulbs? (leg fit as well as reflector opening) It would be a good option if the source of 1499 bulbs disappear. Thanks!
I tested stock bi-pin bulb of 6 cell M*g in above flashlights. Pins spacing are different but fit perfectly and focus correctly. Obviously it is less bright compare to 1499 or 1794 but drains about 0.9 Amp which will run much longer per charge. I also tested 1794 in new bi pin M*g D which fits and function perfectly.
------------------------
What is the overall length of the 2x18500 host? I'm trying to figure out if it will be pocketable. Is it the same length as a 9p?
Overall length of 2x18350 is about 128mm which is a bit shorter than 6P and overall length of 2x18500 is about 165mm which is a bit shorter than 9P
------------------------
I am right on the edge of ordering one of these. Can someone tell me if the light comes with a 1794 already installed?
Yes,
One bulb is installed in each flashlight.

-----------------------
By the way, my 1794 killed a pair of AW IMR18350s; they go dim in less than 60 seconds.
If 3 Amp draw of 1794 killed your old batteries, then you should consider about buying new sets. If your batteries were new then recheck about manufacturer 4 Amp claim.
-----------------------
BTW, on 2x AW IMR 18350, I see 1499 just as bright as 1794.
If you can't tell the difference of 1499 and 1794 in brightness, you definitely have some battery issue.
-----------------------
Also do you guys know any online store that sells those new (2014) high current Efest and Keeppower 18350 and 18500 cells internationally?
You can use any IMR 18350 for 2x18350 size bodies.
For 2x18500 size bodies, I highly recommend AW protected cells. Using IMR 18500 may flash the mentioned bulb.

-----------------------
It would be great to find a bulb that works with this light that draws around 1Amp.
Did you read post number 2 ???
------------------------
Does Maglite make a two-pin LED replacement bulb?
No, Maglite does not make a two-pin LED replacement bulb.
------------------------
FM, you write that prices include one 1794 installed, what would be the price of a 2x18500 light (no tail cap) with the axial bulb installed instead of a 1794?
Price of 1794 is $10 but price of (11V, 2A,) bulb is $12 so difference is $2
------------------------
How can I use 2x18650 batteries in this flashlight? I need longer run time.
You can use 69mm EX/Cap on 2x18350 body.
Another option is
2x18650 TL-3.

-----------------------
Ex cap 35mm when installed on 2x18350, can it be used with 2x18500 then? Are tolerances ok?
Yes, when you use 35mm Ex cap, your 2x18350 flashlight will take 2x18500
and if you use 69mm Ex cap, your 2x18350 flashlight will take 2x18650
By the way, installed Mc Clicky switch on Ex cap, will work as tail cap too and you won't need any separate tail cap.

----------------------
What size is head oring?
FM1794 head oring size:
-022 BN70 1" ID, 1-1/8 OD, 1/16" thickness.

You know, I was just looking at your "E Head" thread with interest, wondering where I was going to get a head for it. Then I see this.

The switch in that, is it an option A or option B style?

Does that penta ring come off ? I would rather a plain round tailcap, like the "E Head".

I'm kind of craving another Fivemega custom.

Oh, I know it's a McClicky, what I mean is if you recall the AW incan drivers for Surefire:
http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb...an-Driver-Switch-For-SF-P-C-M-series-Tail-Cap

I'm wondering which style it takes.

I have an Option A softstart switch I want to use with this. I want to know if it will fit or not, otherwise, I'm going to have to adapt it somehow.
In which case, I will want to ask how much for a spare aluminum ring for mounting the switch.

Thanks.

You're going to love it. I've beeing carrying one on pocket for a solid month now. I feel it less than a 6P.

Just mind your battery voltages if you don't run a softstart.

Thanks for the tip! I don't have a softstart; what voltage do you keep your batteries under to avoid instaflash? I read somewhere that the 1794 was fine with vbatt at or under 4.1. I figure there is probably enough resistance in the switch to tame battery voltage a little; what do you think?

Well, my charger was overcharging to 4.25v which is acceptable and kind of awesome if the bulb could take it, but the 1794 and 1499 could not.

I recalibrated the charger and now I'm gettng 4.18v and it's been fine . . . However, I am now using a softstart which I was not before, and the softstart actually has a bit of voltage drop.

I will run it for a bt at low or medium before I use high. I'm too nervous to try it will fresh off the charger batteries and without the softstart even with the charger recalibrated.

The bulb was designed for a spec li-ion voltage as I understand, so just make sure you charger doesn't overcharge and it's 4.2v or less.

Fivemega recommends letting the batteries rest for several hours and aiming for a voltage of 4.15.

The batteries I'm using are the AW 18350 IMR cells.

This thing is amazing with an AW softstart. If you ever have a chance, grab one.

I'll be using AW 18350 as well. My charger terminates at 4.2 on the dot every time. I will definitely rest the batteries for awhile prior to use. Thanks again for the tip! I've been looking around for a softstart switch, but they are hard to come by.
