Earlier today, I felt it better to select a minimum number of EDC items, rather than to carry my full EDC.

The shortened list included:
Credit Card
Emergency Cash
Small Flashlight
Gentlemen's Folding Knife
Identification
Cell Phone

Please share your list.

Clothes appropriate to the weather! (Many people forget this, it can be the single most important thing, depending on your location.)
Wallet (car insurance, registration, and medical card(s), at a minimum, in addition to what LedTed already mentioned).
Fisher Bullet Space Pen (titanium nitride).
Kershaw Blur (no serrations, drop point).
Keychain (apartment and car keys, and a small light).
Cell Phone.
Zebralight SC600 (not strictly necessary, but very easy to EDC, so why not?

This is the minimum I carry if I am going to be out for a while, because it is enough to deal with virtually any situation, even if you are gone longer than expected, or have an accident, etc. If I'm just walking around the neighborhood, I might take only a couple things. At night, keys/flashlight/knife is adequate (given good clothing). During the day, just the keys and knife will do, if I know I'm not going to be out for long.

Front pocket wallet with credit card, ID, medical card, cash.
keychain with car key, fob, house key, and very small flashlight.
Vic Pioneer on a tec-7 clip.
Single cell light with pocket clip. Can be any one of too many, but usually a AAA light.
iphone.

This is for warmer weather. When it gets cooler, and I have a jacket or coat, I modify this as is appropriate with a lighter, length of para cord, and perhaps a snack bar or two.

If I leave my house, at a minimum I carry my XM-18, my keys, wallet, cellphone, glasses, and an EDC light. Dog walking, grocery shopping, yard work, etc. If I'm venturing farther out, (More than a couple miles) I carry more stuff... :)

I literally won't walk out of my house without a knife and a flashlight. I've almost forgotten my keys and my wallet but never my knife and flashlight.. That's my minimum.. Even if it's just getting the mail or taking out the garbage.

Add a mini Bic lighter, nothing worse than not having fire when you need it.

I try to keep my item list low, i dont like that feeling of carrying a small radio shack store in my pants.

Phone case doubles as wallet.
Qr beta light on my keychain.
Knife clipped to pocket.
Vape.

Everything else like batteries and bigger light, stays in my backpack, which is never too far from me.
