So I have decided to live with the modes it has. LMH..I would have preferred HML , memory or H only, but alas.
But another sticking point I had with it was the horrible fit on the QR....I think it was .017" of clearance.
Friday, I was playing around with an o-ring idea I picked up here, but it was unreliable...required chamfering and overall was a stop gap measure..
After further checking I found that the pocket on the light before the groove was the source of alot of the slop...And I noticed the balls did not drop below the surface in release mode and I
think that is why the outer bore is so loose, to accommodate that fact...?
Next, while messing around Friday, one of the balls came out of the brass QR part....So I had an idea....I opened the end of the light with a 3/8 " end mill (Yielded a .380 hole)....
I took a hardware store QR set that had ZERO play....I shortened the female part of that, pressed it in (coincidentally it was about .001" bigger) with some loc-tite....
I had to drill a .187 hole into the battery compartment to allow the QR finger thing some room so it all engages right...
and voila : PERFECT QR with zero slop!

One pic was taken assembled with a fair amount of side force....and you can tell it's still in there tight.
