Looks interesting, I recently became a big fan of lights in this form factor after trying the Skilhunt H02. I'll keep an eye out for this light.

Will this start in moon mode and can you use 2 RCR123s in place of 1 18650?

Hello there, the light will cycle through the modes except for moon mode, but double click in any mode can access to moon mode. Click the button once to turn it on. It will come on in the last mode that was used. If you were in 200LM mode before, it will come on in 200LM mode this time. And you can only use 1 18650 battery for this headlight. I hope I helped. :)

This headlamp looks fantastic. Recently I have been interested in picking up a headlamp for power outage situations (and night hiking) during which you may want to do work freehand - I am particularly impressed by the runtime claim for turbo mode. Will it really run for almost 3 hours at 1000 lumens?

Are you offering any review samples of this product?

No. It will drop down to a high mode after a few minutes. Then it'll gradually get dimmer over that time span. ANSI ratings measure down to 20% of the original output, but they don't seem to claim they are using ANSI, so it could be dimmer than that at the end of the runtime.

I really like the design and function of the Xtar warboy but I chose to purchase a different brand headlamp due to this being too much like a regular flashlight, I feel a headlamp should have a nice big and wide hotspot to illuminate everything In your vision equally. I don't feel a headlamp needs the throw off a flashlight. It should be more diffused or at least except a diffuser.
