Hello Everyone,

I have been wanting to make a light out of Mokume for the past 5 years. I just could not get over the cost of the material. The larger diameters start to get really expensive. I just ordered a small piece of 3-metal Mokume (Copper, Brass, Nickel-Silver) to make a new Ultra-Lux 18350 Dragon light. This will be the first Ultra-Lux 18350 Dragon light produced so why not make it out of Mokume. I am thinking the depths of the dragon cuts will look nice with Mokume metal.

I am only going to have enough material for two lights if nothing goes wrong during the machining operations.

The lucky person to get the light will have a couple LED options. Triple XP-L HI, or Single XP-L HI. The single XP-L HI is my favorite setup right now. It has a nice spill with a really nice throw with the 20mm optic. The XP-L HI seems to throw like the XP-G2.

The prices on the Mokume Gane are as follows:
Dragon 18350 Turbo single XP-L HI $1279.95
Dragon 18350 Turbo triple XP-L HI $1299.95

These will be sold by RMSK.

We are not sure of the price yet until production but it will be expensive. The cost of the metal alone in each light is over $500.
Thanks
Bob

I am ordering more material to make a couple more lights. It will be June before the new material comes in.

I will update this thread with pictures as things progress.

Once these are machined they will be sold thru Bob (RMSK)

The Ultra-Lux is an outstanding light. The triple in any of the current metals is a real treat.

The mokume should be a winner for sure!

I wanted to get some feedback on which way the milled cuts on the front (Head) of the light looks best. I am only doing one of the two. First picture is with the cuts getting deeper toward the front and the 2nd picture is with the cuts getting deeper towards the back. So I am wanting to get your opinion. I prefer picture 1. Cuts getting deeper towards the front. This picture is still missing the crenelated Bezel. I just wanted to get feedback on the body before machining the Mokume.

Please let me know your thoughts?
