Is this press and hold like the G30 I got rid of? If someone could clarify the instant access to low/turbo, I might be jumping on one of these..

Yea think it is reading all the bumpf.
I want to know what the realistic temp step down gets down too. The medium mode is really low for a chunky light like this. Was hoping for a constant 1200 lumens.

Studying the literature, press releases, and pass around info, it appears to be another MUGGLE Turbo mode model, this one claiming 45 minutes on Turbo in the BJ listing. How would you like to carry around a 26650 pipe bomb, pressing and holding to pump out enough amps for 3000 lumens during 45 minutes? Welcome to the KLARUS reality distortion field everybody.

Once on turbo through main mode selection it stays there like g30.
Rear switch is just a guaranteed turbo bump in the night facility.

Here is the pass around thread that contains a brief impression review of the G20 pre-production sample.

So far, only 1 member, i.e. @MikeB posted his impression and some photos of the light.
The description page also indicates that the pass around light uses the XHP-50 emitter with lower max lumens rating.

I'm actually quite interested how this light handle the Turbo mode, i.e. is it time step down, thermal step down or non-regulated, as the drop from Turbo to the next mode is quite steep.

It is thermal. I need to know what it roughly can drop to and withstand. Thats the only pain with thermal control. Unless I buy a light I have no idea how bright it will be for me constantly. Need reviews !

The price is also too high for my liking.
I also don't need the included 26650 battery as I prefer to source my own, so I think I'll pass

I like the spacing on this one. It sounds like generally about ~4x the lumens will be perceived as ~2x in brightness. I like there's only 4 modes to cycle through. I guess this light is more floody as the beam distance and cd is shorter and less
than the other lights in this class (Olight R50 Seeker, Acebeam EC50, etc).

Is tail cap without the button an option in the future?

Hello Klarus,

The G20 pass-around thread says the G20 can use 26650 or 18650 batteries "(1 x 18650 or 1 x 26650, has adapter for 18650)".
I just saw on the Klarus site to not use 18650 batteries in this flashlight. Can you please confirm the G20 takes only 26650 batteries?

Also, can you please tell me if the 26650 battery that comes with the G20 is protected or unprotected?

Thank you. :)
