Re: SR52UTvn35?

At around 220kcd and over 1100 lumens the power boosted model is great value at about half that price, but is very CW. If it is much better performance than the spec 3 at $200 then I would consider it for sure. Do you have output numbers and beam info? Thanks Vinh. :)

Re: SR52UTvn35?

This is the best current version

  • Spec 3: Lumen 1320/1290, Lux 270K/270K, Excellent Output & Throw combination, NO USB charging due to programmable DriverVNX2
I am hoping to get 2000 Lumen and may be 300-325K Lux...

Is that a PDT or a HI? Sounds really impressive anyway. I love the SR52UT and the XHP35 utilises the 3x 18650 and the excellent throw that this reflector gets for its size. [emoji106]

Re: SR52UTvn35?

I'm tempted but want to see some final lumen and lux #'s. Be a good light to add to my collection

Re: SR52UTvn35?

Depending on specs I may be tempted to send mine in for an upgrade eventually. I'm curious about the specs

It would be a little hard to justify since the TN42 is only $200 and has 600k lux out of the box. However, the SR52UT is much more compact and I already have one so I'm guessing the price to upgrade would be around $120 + shipping?

Also, which drivervn version would this use?

No prices will be more than $120 to mod for sure. $250 is the price when I buy the SR52UT in bulk, not retail.

DriverVNX2 will be used.

LED will be XHP35

$250 is kinda high so let me think this through.

I've been thinking about this......

It's smaller and more powerful than the K40Svn. 13mm smaller on the head and 26mm shorter and another 500 lumens. That's impressive.

Much smaller than the K70vn, which is really big and has better throw from the large reflector and probably 500 more lumens and about the same price. But from where you stand holding the light an extra 250,000 KCD is not as much as it sounds once you get above 1km range, and the compact size of the SR would be appealing.

You are right that $250 might be a shade high for where it sits in the performance scale compared to your other lights at $95 more than the K40Svn. I hope that you find a way of bringing it down a bit and still making it worth your while.

Overthinking done! Over and out! [emoji38]

Re: SR52UTvn35?

If his could replace my k40lvn, and my tn32vn, then I'm in. Actually, I wouldn't be getting rid of the tn32vn as its a super overachiever at well over 1000 lumens from an XPG2.

One of my all time favorite lights was the x40vn @ 250k lux and 3500 lumen in a light with a 2.5" head. If you could hit 300k lux, and 2000 lumen and have a better beam with no petals, shorter length, neutral tint, and easier to use forward button U/I (the tail button with the rotary ring on the x40vn make it a 2 handed light) then I would be in.

I keep thinking about asking if you could convert my k40vn to xhp35 since it has 12 nominal volts coming out of the battery carrier and the stock driver actually sees and runs on 12 (give or take) volts.

I'd be interested if the £ wasn't so weak at the moment, seems to have gone into free fall over the last week or so :thumbsdow

Definitely interested in this light. This and whatever Fenix comes out with for a dedicated thrower will probably be my next two lights though I have to buy some other items unrelated to lights first so might be next year depending :(.

Sell the kids.........!!! win win:)

Yes the £ is real bad right now, not long back $250 would have been £160 ish, now its about £200

Think the solid build and high quality of this light, coupled with the useful USB charging, throw in an xhp35 HI and should be a winner. Guess at 370 kcd and 2300lm:naughty:
