Today I dropped my HDS rotary from standing height on a tile floor. When I picked it up, the light wouldn't work, so I opened it up. The unprotected AW 16340 that was in it was very hot to the touch. I removed the battery and set it on a counter. It appeared to expand as it split the wrapper and made a hissing noise. I'm assuming this is how the cell is supposed to act as a safety measure. (?) Would there have been damage to my light or injury if I wouldn't have removed it?

Regardless, not a good feeling...

A venting Battery can make your flashlight exlode as it has no venting holes like a vaporizer

there are reports from blown away tailcaps or heads

the gases from a venting Lithium battery are very toxic, so make sure not to inhale em

if zhe battery explodes also cleaning up needs protection
