Is anyone familiar with the Surefire EW1-ALPHA or the EW11-Charlie? What's the story on these two? I've heard they're the best of Surefire production. I'm a SF flashlight collector and in '03 I bought two EW1s. Maybe ten years later the one I used regularly center pin was getting sloppy. I called SF and they said "Send it in". So I did. Several months later I got an email saying they couldn't repair it. They offered me 40% off my next purchase (which you can get anywhere ) or a new knife. At that time the Charlie was their newest, so they sent me one.
Never did use it. It went in a display case the other EW1. So, what do you think about these two?

I have never care for SF's knives. I believe that they were designed by Steve Ryan.

Have you ever used one? There's probably not that many over there. Steve Ryan did the first one. By the time they got around to the 11th version, Ryan was gone. Charlie, EW11, was their most popular model.

No, I haven't. If it doesn't appeal to my eye, I won't buy it.
