Hi all

Please forgive my noob questions. I found this forum whilst trying to research answers for myself, I have been a tech geek for a long time but I haven't tried to build anything before, besides my own PCs.

I would like to try and use my Creative T40 (mains power) speakers and run them from a 24.4v drill battery in a portable case. The T40 power supply states that it outputs at 27v, 1.7a. From research I found that drills can use very high amps, so I assume this would be more than adequate.

I'm hoping that the difference between 24.4v and 27v is not significant enough to cause problems.

I see tips online about not running the battery completely flat. Do I need to build something into the system to prevent this, eg. analog volt meter?

Thanks in advance for your advice

you'll never know unless you try, at least you wont damage anything if battery is not compatible.
