Hey All,

I am looking for advice on a charger for my new Eneloop Pro batteries. I don't need top of the line, but I also don't want to be unnecessarily cheap. The Primary reason for them is my new Fenix E12.

I was looking at the ones below. Which of these would be best? IF you have another suggestion I am all ears.

1. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000RSOV50/?tag=cpf0b6-20

2. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LZONPF2/?tag=cpf0b6-20

3. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LZGD87D/?tag=cpf0b6-20

4. Absolute ceiling of what I want to spend, and even then only if I really need to.

Thank you everyone in advance.

I like the Panasonic BQ-CC55 for Eneloops. Gets great reviews and $24 on Amazon.

Have a Maha MH-C808M I have used for over 4 years now with no problems. I use the Conditioning and Soft Charging Modes a lot. Also takes C cells and has 8 slots.

The Ikea charger seems to have very good rating in this forum. I am using one and so far so good.

if you need only nimh charger i am suggesting ikea ladda as well...cheap and simple and it looks reliable...

it doesn't have some advanced features, but the jury is still out if refresh/disharge feature is even necessary...:welcome:

I use opus chargers. I have the bt-c3100 v2.2, bt-c2000, and bt-c700. They've been working well for me. I like their features and ui for the price. Check out reviews here and by hkj. Plenty of info available to compare. Even though I don't have any personal experience with it the maha c9000 does seem to be king of the nimh chargers around here.

Edit: Did you get a charger bundled with the eneloops? And if so is it a bq-cc17. If so that is a very good charger, it's just slow. But if you already have it and don't need/want analyzing then it should serve you just fine.

It is the Eneloop pro charger bundle with the BQ CC17 charger. However, I got two packages(one from Best Buy, and another from Amazon) with the bottom of batteries damaged. I was going to get a package of eneloop pros, then a stand alone charger as I don't know if the batteries that came with the Eneloop charger are safe. In addition, you are the 2 of about 20 people that has told me to stick with the Panasonic charger.

Well it's just a question of what you are looking for. If you don't want to spend anymore you don't have too. The panasonic charger is good at what it does. But it's slow compared to other options we have listed and lacks analytics. It's up to you if you need more speed or analyzing. Then one of the other options like the c9000 or the opus chargers I recommend would be the top options IMO.

It looks like Gun Shark budget is around $30 or so, so the Maha MH-C808M is out of the running (although I did buy 3 of them at £29.99 each):naughty:

Gun Shark your top ceiling should be for this Maha MH-C9000

But working with the charger you've linked to I would choose the La Crosse BC-700 (BC-1000 is just an updated more expensive version of the BC-700) as that is the closest to the MH-C9000, The D4 and the i4 are basically the same charger that charge Li-Ion as well a NiMH, but they lack the discharge and charge rate selection option offered on the BC-700.

Off topic: you may want to have a look at the Jetbeam Jet-I MK, it's cheaper, brighter and have longer runtime than your Fenix E12. IMHO it's better built too. Only difference is the Jetbeam is a twisty as opposed to the clicky on the Fenix.

Given that your main use is charging batteries for mid-level light, I don't see much reason for spending extra on those more feature rich chargers.

The Sanyo BQ-CC17 or BQ-CC55 chargers look perfectly adequate for you, even assuming you start using NiMH cells in more devices. These are both known to control the charge of each battery individually, and have good termination control.

Hi,
Since you have both the C3100 and C700, you might be the right person to have the info I'm looking for. Right now I'm mainly charging NiMh Eneloop AA batteries. Do both the same job in charging them, or is the C700 better suited because of metal temperature sensors? What is your experience? For me it's not the price difference (15 vs 25 usd) that would make me choose, only performance. Like to hear your opinion on this. Thanks!
