Hi all, please help me understand why my mod didn't work :shrug:
I swapped in a 4000K XP-G2 in my Olight i3s awhile back, reflowing the LED on the original MCPCB. Recently I wanted to try an even warmer tint and tried the same thing with a 3000K XP-G3. It lit up briefly at the expected brightness in medium, then switched to high normally...and then after a few seconds the brightness went to what looked like moonlight without switching modes. Every time I turned it on after that it only went on in moonlight. Tried a few batteries with no change and then swapped the 4000K XP-G2 back in and it works fine. I looked at the LED datasheets and don't see any reason why the XP-G3 shouldn't work in place of the XP-G2.
