Hey guys,

I tried looking around the forum and didn't quite see anything that can help me. As a basic intro i am completely new to this stuff but have always been fascinated with electronics etc.

Its time to revolutionize slo pitch softball! Most leagues these days are using plywood boards for underhand leagues. I want to see if I can create a plywood base that would lightup when the ball hits it.

So far I see there are sound sensors that can be used but I am not sure if that will work because other noises shouldn't set this off, (ump yelling, ball hitting bat etc). Is there some sort of an impact sensor that I can use that will work, also what materials do I use to ensure that the rig is weather proof and can take some abuse?

Any ideas?
