A RCR123 high capacity battery from Fenix with protection at the plus pole.











The cell can deliver about 2A before it starts to loos capacity, this matches fine with a 1.4A rating.

I have a set of these. Run one in a 4/7 1xcr123 quark. So far doing a good job. Nice review.

A substantial improvement over the protected Nitecore NL166 cell

I was able to look up these batteries and get an idea of how well I can expect them to perform in my newest flashlight. Keep up the good work and thanks again!

FWIW my newest flashlight is a 2017 edition EAGTAC D25C Titanium with the Nichia 219 Emitter.

I guess I'll be using this instead of a hard to find AW cell

I agree. At loads of 2A and below, these seem to have the highest capacity (I spent some time with the HKJ comparator tool).
The Klarus 16340 has performance similar enough to make me wonder if it using the same cell as the Fenix.

Ill grab a few just to see how they run vs the keepower 700mah. So much appreciation for HKJ, a true wizzard.

Fenix ARB-L16-700 vs 700U (Built in Recharge)

I have a couple of these and so far they have worked well. I was thinking of getting a couple of the Fenix 16340 700U with the built in recharging port for when traveling light and don't want to carry a charger. Has anyone done testing on the 700U in comparison?

I have the one that came with the CL09 lantern. Capacity wise, they are both 700mAh batteries and that pretty much coincides with the one run time test I did, so I think the biggest concern is battery length. Fenix is only charging an extra dollar over the other 16340 battery and so that seems very fair. Personally, I just go with the regular 16340 batteries.......but I see nothing wrong with those that like having that feature built in. I think the only gotcha would be if its too long for a 16340 light that is rather snug to begin with.

Since the AW flood and factory shutdown I have moved to these Fenix batteries. Purchased four initially and recently purchased another two for a total of six batteries. Over the past 6 months they have worked quite well in my HDS and Olight single CR123 lights.

I am not measuring capacity but simply charging and discharging the batteries through normal use.

Is the diameter of the 700U really 18.6mm? If so, it won't fit in my Elzettas.
