Scope rings come in 25.4mm (1"), 30mm, and 34mm.

I want a very strong thrower so it will still be descent with a red filter on it. Don't mind a big long light--it will be a specialty application. Not a primary flashlight or even a primary weapon light.

I don't think it is an accident that AceBeam makes their 18650 tubes 25.4mm (3.7mm walls) and their 266509 tubes 30mm (only 2mm walls). They seem to cater to this application. In fact, two AceBeam lights are at the top of my list.

AceBeam T21 (Cree XP-L) 2x18650 25.4mm tube
1500 lumen, 1050m -- how is 1500 lumen possible from a 1150 lumen LED?
T21vn (Cree XP-G2 S4 Dedome): 900 lumen, 1414m.

AceBeam T30 (Cree XHP35) 2x26650 (or 4x). 30mm tube I assume a boost/buck driver since the XHP35 is an 11.3v LED and there is no difference in rating with 2 or 4 cells.
2200 lumen/1081m
T30vn (Cree XHP35 HI): 2200 lumen (with boost as measured by VN)/1225m

These filters fit both of them: http://www.acebeam.com/filtert21t30 I know from my research on this forum and the other forum that early T21s were not threaded for filters but later units were. AceBeam's web site currently shows a threaded T21 and unthreaded T30 in the pictures. I'm guessing they are both threaded now.

Obviously the T21 is more focused than the T30 making the same throw with less and the T21VN making much more throw with even less lumens.

I have not yet looked at all the LED spec sheets to see what they give in the red. For the XP-G2 it looks like I will be much better off with a warm white based on the spectral graphs on page 10 of this datasheet: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...X3z2K_wYRe7VvKYcA&sig2=oKY_7vT0Ijs6CCcjRoFODA

If the T30 gives the same performance between 7.2 and 14.4v nominal, it would be a good candidate for wiring it up to my remarkably light 12.8v 20,000mAh prismatic battery which I could wear in a back back or on a belt pack.

Any feedback on these two light or any other potential choices?

Mike
