I tried to search this without much luck. I'm looking for a small thrower. I've got several excellent floods (maratac, reylight, Os2, astrolux) but would like one around this size that can give me a powerful spot. Would rather stay away from adjustable focus.
Thanks!

I've never tried the Nitecore P30 but from what I've read it's a winner in the compact single 18650 throw category.

I have a TN4A Hi and I love it, if your interested in a soda can style light.

The Eagtac M30LC2 XP-L HI V3 pushes 1,150 lumens (1,000 lumens ANSI) with 91k cd (604 meters of throw) in a 1x 18650 cell host. The modded MC30CvnT with dedomed XP-G2 produces right at 300k cd for 1,100 meters of throw.

In a 1x 26650 format, the Acebeam EC60 and particularly the modded EC60vn, as well as the Lumintop SD26 and SD26vn are both impressive throwers as well.

Awesome but that is not AA!,,,,It is 18650!!! LOL!,,,,,,,,,,,,I think this thread changed from the first time I saw it when it was strictly AA!!! Either that or I am getting old,,,,,,,,:D

How about an Eagletac TX25C2vn XPG2 900Lumens/80Kcd[field tested] Much smaller than the other E'Tac mentioned!:poke:

Only 4 3/4" long.;)

Yeah the thread title does read AA/18650 so that's what I replied to. But you are correct, the TX25C2vn is considerably smaller than the Eagtac I mentioned.

If someone asked my opinion I would suggest buying an SD26vn. Yes it runs on a 26650 but it's still pretty small... a heck of a lot smaller than that MC30CvnT.

yaaa,, I am getting old!!,57 in 3.5 weeks! I must have been thinking of another thread!

The SDMiniVN is another good one,,,,smaller the the TX25C2 w/ almost the same specs.

OP never mentioned a spending limit!

I knew it was the TX25Cvn!!

Just my preference,,probably others to!!!

Its bigger brother w/ the 18650 is a better choice IMO.Much longer run time and not much bigger in size. That $180 is also steep!

I got my TX25C2vn DD/Single mode for $120.:twothumbs

Just looked at the website. The TX25C2 is NOW selling for $170,,,,,,,,why is the little brother $10 more?

Nitecore P12GT or MH25GT maybe nice for you

When it comes to an EDC light I wouldn't want to go any bigger than a cigar style tube light. For an unmodded cigar style light I think that the Nitecore P12GT is hard to beat for throw. When you consider the price (code) it is hard to beat.

My current EDC is a Klarus Mi7 using a 14500 battery and when you compare the size vs output it more than meets my needs. I just lock it out to prevent accidental activation.

A rookie, error. Meant AA/14500 but that's ok...i think these suggestions are terrific!

I love this tiny thrower. Shockingly impressive. ANSI Lumen 550, Lux 50K, Throw 450m
It's similar to the AA size. Use a AW IMR16340 15C 550mAh battery.

Hi Bruce, please note the following CPF Rule #3 (from the FAQ) ...

Images... If you post an image in your post, please downsize the image to no larger than 800 x 800 pixels. In addition, DO NOT hotlink the images!!!

And @Capolini , your photo above is also just over the size limit, too.

I have noticed this happening much more frequently on CPF recently. Please, before posting a photo (or link) , ensure that it has been properly resized and hosted on a photo sharing site.

Thank you all :)

Thanks to all for the input. I ordered the Klaus Mj7 as it hit a good price (29 shipped) and Seems to be the best short of going for some of the $100+ throwers.

Correct. Typing on a moving train, with or without a good light is treacherous.
