While the tail of the light may have two flat edges and be "capable" of standing on it's tail, it is not recommended... It was designed for a comfortable & ergonomic grip, making the bezel of the light tapered out from that of the tail so weight might not be proportionate enough to risk standing the light on it's tail.

That's unfortunate. Instead of the weird "Transformer icon" bottom, the one on the EC4 series would be much preferable.

I ordered one nonetheless.

The UI is *fantastic* - tail cap clicky for on-off and a selector ring with click detents, including a continuously variable ramp from low to high that is as smooth as my Surefire Titan T1A.

The beam is combination of flood and beam. CRI is 88.

The tail cap to load the batteries is very weird. Nitecore really should revert to the screw-in design on the EC4 series.

The belt clip is very tight and almost completely useless, as there is not enough room for a normal thickness belt. Fortunately they provide a holster.
