What does 1mw/5mw mean?

I was browsing the lasers category from banggood and I saw that many lasers have 1mw/5mw "power". And a more expensive one had this in the specs:
Power:1mw = 200mw
2mw = 500mw
3mw = 1000mw

so somehow 1mw equals to 200mw? aka 0.2 watts? I'm confused now:/

it's all smoke and mirrors when you buy from "chinezeum" dealers.... buy from a reputable, researched source, not "Bangblow or FLebay, etc."
NONE OF THEIR SPECS ARE TRUE!
they either blatantly lie about output or they overdrive a diode with inadequate cooling... either way, you get screwed.
thats not to say that the laser you get won't make you happy but you could do better.

There's no such thing as a Chinese flashlight; the idea lumps together everything from Zebralight to "Police Tactical", which only leads to a whole lot of confusion. Our snark is more directed at the retailer who tries to sell such things than the lights themselves.
