I'm looking for a flashlight to use when traveling. Something ideal to use when-

  1. Lighting up a room while people are sleeping.
  2. Lighting up a dark street at night.

  • Multiple modes - Due to the above, I need a multi-mode flashlight, at least three brightness levels.
  • $20 to $40 - Something on the cheaper end.
  • Tailcap w/ momentary - Although not a requirement, I would prefer a tailcap switch with tactical/momentary.
  • CR123A - I already have another torch that uses CR123a's, so I would like to stick with this battery type.
  • I don't care for strobe/flash. At the very least they should not be part of a main power cycle loop.

Thanks for the feedback

Can't go wrong with that. It's a favorite around here. Goinggear and illumn dot com will give you great info. In fact so much info you'll be second guessing your decision from here to eternity. I personally would have went with the D25c. I wear a mini ml around my neck but when the temp soars above 90, I won't even wear my wedding ring. Don't tell the wife...
