Good morning

My v5 Dropin stopped working.
  • I had a protected 18650 in my 6P and first thought the battery is empty.
  • The battery wasn't empty because with an incan LA the battery is ok.
  • Since then my v5 Dropin doesn't work anymore no matter what battery configuration.
  • Polarity was always right.

What could that be?

Kind regards,
HP

Maybe the switch?
Remove the tailcap and short the -ve side of the battery to the clean metal on the body.
Ceratinly try another cell or two 18350s.
Good luck,
P

  • I tried another switch,
  • another battery,
  • another head/bezel.

Only I didn't try another body because I have only one old 6P classic but with two different extenders. It's not in a extreme low mode. It's dead.

That response, Moddo, is one of the reasons I purchase Oveready products. That, and they kick butt... :D

Good Morning Dan, Moddoo, Croquette, Kitrobaskin, Peter, Dave and Scout24

Thanks for the help in troubleshooting. Your customer service ist outstanding, Dan & Moddoo. Surefire pales....

My v5 dropin sees a lot of use. I enjoy using old Surefire hosts with this dropin. While the v5 is in repair the LX2 sees a lot of use. In my eyes the LX2 is together with the Z3 the most beautiful light.

Kind regards
HP

Thanks for the update; hoping to hear a follow through as well. In a retail world of low expectations and 'good enough', the Oveready Team rises above the clatter.

The Z2 body from Oveready is absolutely desirable and seems to bring the biggest smile from this everynight-user. Perhaps the Z3 is fifty percent more satisfying?

There's word that Oveready plans to make Z2 bodies again. I'm going to buy one and a Z1 body too. ETA I don't know...

I've sent the dropin in before summer holidays. During the last two weeks or so I asked twice per PM if it arrived. Eventually I will hear from you. As for now I write it off.

My dropin arrived at OVEREADY and everything is ok. Dan was (still is) very busy because of the success of the BOSS.
