Thin 18650 better than VTC5A?

Hello, I use a bored 6P which takes 18650, but only those which are on the thinner side. The dropin in the 6P is a quad XPL pulling a high current so I was recommended and have two VTC5A cells which I use in it as they can provide the necessary discharge. However, they're only 2600mAh.

Does anyone know of a high current thin 18650 with higher mAh capacity than the VTC5A? I find my runtimes are a little too short that's all.

You can try the VTC6. Same diameter, somewhat more charge (3000 instead of 2600mA) and still high drain.

Will ONLY the VTC5A do? Might another cell with a slighly lower discharge rate work? If so, consider the VTC6. You get an honest to goodness 3100mAH out of the VTC6 (vs 2600mAH for the VTC5A). Current draw is in the 15-20A range for this cell, which isn't too shabby. If this will work for you, give it a try.

It might be worthwhile to actually test runtimes. The rating is done at half an amp (IIRC), and it's entirely possible that a battery with a lower rating (VTC5A) can exceed the runtime of a weaker battery with a higher mAh-rating. Happens because the stronger battery can keep the voltage up better, so doesn't reach empty as fast.
(Poke me if you want me to rephrase)

The dropin I use is a Vinh/SkyLumen V54 Quad XPL P60 fitted in my 6P.

I'm unsure of the exact current draw but I'd imagine it's quite high as it outputs a genuine 2500 lumen off one 18650.

Will look into the VTC6. I did try the 30Q and it fit but it was a challenge to get it out as was a very tight fit!

Going by spec alone, 30Q is 18.33 +/- 0.07, while VTC6 is 18.35 +0.15 / - 0.2, so it's by no means a given that the VTC6 will be an easier fit, but specs are overlapping, so hard to tell.

VTC5 on the other hand, is listed as 18.2mm, same margins as VTC5A and VTC6.

One caveat is that the spec of the VTC mentions that it excludes the wrinkle on the trunk.

Nothing certain in other words, but I'd probably try a VTC5 if I were in your shoes. Certainly a above the other VTCs at least.

Sorry that I didn't catch this before I made my last comment. I have several of all these batteries (exception being 30Q, of which I only have one), and I hadn't noticed the change in spec before.
