The McClicky switch will handle up to 5 amps so I'm told.

How does that compare with a stock Surefire Z59 or Z68 tailcap and switch? Will those handle 5A as well?

Which would you consider more reliable?

Z59 push the power through a tiny spring, the same spring that pushes the button back up. I don't recall the number but at small amps (under a quarter of mcckicky), that spring melts, leaving the switch down.

I wanted to run a Malkoff E2ST on one of these switches, either an E2D or E2E Surefire body. Emailed Gene and he said the head pulls 2.1 amps.

That might be pushing the limits, and I don't want reliability problems.

Decided to try this setup, seems to handle the 2.1 amps OK : Malkoff E2ST, Stainless Steel Bezel, Streamlight 2L Clip, SF E2L body, Arisaka Momentary Switch, KP 16650 2500 mah cell
