CR123a draining...

So after years of only using protected 18650s I now started carrying a tiny ZebraLight SC32 as work EDC. Anyway my old habit with primaries was to discard them after they dropped down to a low output. Recently I was doing some testing with the new SC32 and I left a "dead enough to toss" Surefire CR123a in the light when I went to bed. The next day I turned the light on and found I could still get to the second highest mode! I didn't run it long but the light is still usable for momentary stuff (which is how I tend to use it anyway). I don't have a meter (always used the built in on my Xtar with the 18650s) but it seems like I should keep a marked box to store all these "mostly dead" CR123as cells for emergency use?

I mean if I was out of power for a long time I could keep using these mostly depleted cells until they were all truly dead -right?

Thoughts please!

Its the voltage of the cell recovering when left to rest(no load). Maybe a vampire cr123 light for night stand uses

Yeah...I stopped using multi-cell lights a few years ago. Now I only use single cell 18650 and single CR123a.
