Re: D1vn - Budget TX25C2vn

Looks really good! How is the throw- is it like a traditional reflector with spot plus spill or mostly a spot?

Beam is excellent with traditional hot spot, coron and spill

Similar looking as my PD12vn in small configuration.

However, D1vn has a bigger head and more output!

1.Same old question,,,How long b/4 it gets hot w/ the: Spec 2: SST40 HD 6500K Lumen 2300, Lux 48K, Throw 438m $68

^^^^

Nice pictures. That is the color I picked. I only have Three other GREY lights and about 30 Black ones!

I did not realize the the D1 and D4 had different heads. I thought they were the same light. I am glad to see that the HEAD is bigger for D1. It will certainly dissipate the heat better being it is bigger and ~2000 less lumens than the D4!

Re: D1vn - Budget TX25C2vn

Barely any lux gain but lumen drop 300. Not worth it.
Zzozzv6 on the D1 thread on BLF reported the following test results with SST40:
My tests about SST40 and XP-L HI shows these numbers in the same C8 host and FET driver:
XP-L HI V2 1A: 5,9A, 1434 lumens, 93100 Cd, 610m
SST40 with dome: 8,6A, 2232 lumens, 70500 Cd, 531m
SST40 dedomed: 8,6A, 2000 lumens, 136300 Cd, 738m

His results seem surprisingly different from what you experienced. He saw less throw with domed SST40 compared to XPL HI. But when he dedomed the SST40, throw doubled.

If you get a chance Vinh, can we see a side by side comparison with the 18350 body to the Four Sevens Goliath? I gotta get one, but which one!?! Haha.

Hey Vihn, I'm on the fence between spec1 and spec2. Just curious how many amps each of these lights will pull. Thanks!

I didnt dedome so I dont know. I shave dome instead and in this light the difference was not great. For the SST40 HD we got similar output but he got quite a bit more lux. I only measured 48K while he got 70K. My HI only got 40K and he got 90K...Kind of oddd...We do likely tune our beam differently though. But yeah very different numbers :)

Hope this helps, even though our preferences may be different.

That was an easy decision for me! I have always loved throw, but when the gain is minimal in spec 1 and the Lumens are so much more in spec 2, it makes for an easy decision,,,For me!

Spec 2 is 1600 more lumen and only 12K LESS Lux!

I know this from all the questions I have asked over the years. He does not check/list the amp draw anymore, simply the Lux and lumen.

If I click the factory-link I see there are three body options: 18350 / 18500 / 18650.
I can't find an option to order just a body on Intl-outdoor.com.
If I order a D1vn, which body do I get and can we order just the 18500 or 18650 tube from you as well?
I'd really like to have all three options
