Hello all!
Up for grabs is a lego built around a McGizmo Makai head sporting a Ti Cr2 body and light engine by Dataled and a Ti tail cap my RPM.
I have always enjoyed buffing and polishing things to give a better feel and or appearance so I gave this piece a bit of elbow grease.
What first inspired me was the machined surface of the "bell" of the Makai head (see 4th picture down with the inset pic comparing the before in the upper right to the after).
Now, sometimes I do enjoy a nice machined surface but I thought that area could use some help to provide a better look and feel. So I buffed that surface down so the "bell" area is more fluid around the curve, losing the notches in the surface.
I then decided to polish the recessed flutes to provide some contrast.
Now, the RPM tail came polished so left the flutes and the recess around the McClicky polished and gave the entire light (except the flutes in the head and tail) an even buffing to give the 3 different parts continuity in surface finish.
Regarding the Dataled light engine, here are the specs:
3-Speed, Cree XPL Hi 4K with 1.5A high and single cell, 3.7 volt max input.
Provides a nice tight hot spot and good throw from the big Makai reflector.
Here are some pics:
