checking continuity on a LED4power 3xp board - no ground?

I'm building up a S2+, and wanted to try the offerings from LED4power. Purchased their LED tailcap as well, but I can't check that until everything else is in place.
Board is the 3xp mosled, and using the LD-B4

My first attempt on reflowing XPL-hi's onto the board ended in failure, and a week's wait for new LEDs to come in. I did buy two boards, because I've only ever done one other reflow.

The question is, shouldn't the negative side be linked with the neg pad of the LED's? I can see the positive is fine, but I don't want to waste another board and round of LEDs experimenting.

I made a quick video, does this look correct?

I am putting the notched end of the LED on the dotted section of the LED pad on the board

I know its an old thread and you probably figured it out already, but anyway in this setup the led NEG is connected to the led NEG pad thru the FET, so there wont be continuity until the FET gate pin is energized.
