I could very much use a few of these cells - as the Panasonic low temp cells are difficult to find, but at $26+, I will have to weigh the cost against the option of using a CR123-powered light during the coldest months.

I got one of them. It was -14F when I put it in a light fully charged. Set it outside for a couple hours and it was -18F. Turned the light on high and ran it 40 minutes. Ran perfect. Brought it in to kill the battery and charge it up again.

Ive used it so much as of right now that I have broke even if I were to be running primary cr123s in the light. Everything from here is free and it actually does work in very cold temperatures.

Other batteries work well enouh when cold but in that kind of cold they wont run that long. It's probably worthless to the hobby charger or hobby light user. If you need light in very cold for long run times. This is it. No more carrying extra 18650s or buying primaries for me when it's cold.

Boris 74 - Can it run your light on high ?

Yes. The HL-X is kept on high only. After 5-10 minutes it was warm enough to melt the snow on it, ran like normal after that for run time.

I did get a 2L-X for my birthday and I've moved it to that light as it carries easier and is more of a user light than a big lumen light. Works just as good in it as the HL-X.
