But man not all are created equal. I built 2 and ofor 1.23Kcd The other got 1.1 Kcd. I will just use low number as specs then.

Exactly . People at TLF have quite some experience with Oslon Black Flat's , and they say Oslons have serious differences between them unlike Cree leds .

I think the TN42 with the dedomed xp-g2 was a very good deal too . A little more wide beam (not really visible difference) , 15-20% more lumens but 10% less throw .

This[Inconsistencies] was posted on here ~ 2 months or so ago from Info. a guy on BLF had posted on there.

I am definitely a person who is sometimes too focused on numbers. In this case it really will not be noticeable unless you have Superman eyes!

1.23Mcd=2218m/2426yds. of throw
1.1Mcd=2098m/2294yds. of throw

A difference of 120m/132yds.....just bragging rights which a lot of us like including myself!

Overall I would take a big fat hot spot w/ a lot of lumens[TN42vn 90] over a pencil beam 1.23Mcd/750 lumen light any day!!

But I still love my OSLON M25C2vn T- 552Kcd/1485m/1624yds.:twothumbs

BTW It out throws BOTH the U21vn and SR52vn w/ the same OSLON LED!

We have posted it before. Osram does not bin their LEDs. One reel of black flats could include many different brightness bins of black flats.

That could very well explain the lux difference, or it could just be not as good of a focusing job on the lesser lux one as well.
