I don't believe I have ever seen a AAA size penlight designed for two 10450 cells. All of the ones I have seen are designed for standard alkaline, lithium primary, or NiMH cells. If the light in question is not very rare or expensive, and you feel lucky, you could try using one 10450 and one dummy cell. There are three possible results: One, instaflash and release of the magic blue smoke resulting in one dead light. Two, it may work, but radically shorten the life of some of the components, and possibly cause you to lose any multi-mode options as it switches to direct drive only. Three, it may appear to work properly for some length of time, but know that you are still stressing the components and shortening their life span, especially the LED itself. All in all, I would say just resign yourself to using a good set of NiNH AAA cells and not have to worry about it.
