Is there any Surefire historian left on CPF?

I had purchase the following Beam Shaper on CFP MarketPlace many years ago. Just today a fellow CPF'er pointed out that it does not have the "Surefire" logo on the flip lid. Does anybody know if Surefire had manufactured these beam shaper without logo at a point in time? I would like to see if I can get confirmation that this beam filter is genuine Surefire. I located two threads that shows beam shapers FM34 without "Surefire" logo on them.

I just did a quick survey of my own collection, and I appear to have ten of these (known authentic) parts (or similar, including the various filter / beamshaper options) and all have the brand logo on the item in (at least) one location.

Hope that is helpful.

Size15's would probably best know, but I haven't seen him around in quite a while ....

Maybe Rat, luisma, or jamesmtl514 might have some thoughts on this ?

Maybe it's a "sterile" beam shaper, used by military for clandestine operations. Just thinking out loud. Ran across this post from years back.

All my Surefire beamshapers/filters have the Surefire logo on them. Maybe try sending Surefire those pics and see what they have to say.

I could be wrong, but looking at the finish on it, it kind of comes across as possibly "counterfeit". Can't say for sure, it's hard to say.

Thank you for all your feedback. I have emailed Surefire technical to see if they can provide any feedback. No guarantees.

Size15 lurks the surefireholics facebook page and PK's facebook page sometimes.

Not everyday kinda thing but it might be worth a try over at the holics page.

Like BB said it could be a military issued number.

Update.

Surefire has manufactured 'sterile' (no logo) FM34 in the past. From the pictures that were sent to Surefire, they do not see anything that shows it is not a genuine Surefire product, however, the extremely helpful Surefire representative can not give 100% confirmation that it is a Surefire product unless he is able to see it in person.

I can now personally vouch that Surefire has sold "sterile" FM34 beamshapers commercially, in the past. I have an "unbranded' FM34 I had thought was a clone. I was going through a large bag of flashlight stuff, and I found the original, empty Surefire bag for an FM34. I cut open those bags in a peculiar manner, so I know I got it as NOS at one point, and I had forgotten this wrapper. Therefore I am confident that my FM34 is the real deal, even though it does not have the word "Surefire" on the front. This does potentially complicate issues of "provenance", but I thought that CPF'ers might like to know!
