I have a Sunwayman T20CS. I use either a 18650 or two CR123A batteries to power the CREE XM-L U2 LED, producing 658 Lumen.:thumbsdow

This was one of my first serious LED flashlights awhile back. It fits my hand just right and with the tactical tail button, a very convenient side
switch and a nice thrower, I want to keep using it.

I own a number of Sunwayman 1000 lumen flashlights, but I just like the T20CS, so I was wondering if it would be possible to mod my T20CS from 658 to 1000 lumen?:twothumbs Has anyone tried it? Who has the smarts and the proper tools to to make this mod, if possible?

Thanks,

Ron

I don't see why not. I have a Sunway V60C that came with an XML-T6 that was about 650lumes. I had Vinh replace the T6 LED with an XML-U3, and that brought up to about 850 lumens. I suspect that if you could locate a current XPL or similar LED that used the same voltage as the XML-U2, you could probably get very close to 1000 lumens. Since the days of the XML-U2 the efficiency of the LED has improved considerably.
