I haven't been particularly active here this summer, so I have been out of the loop. What are the current throw kings right now?

See here for a nice list that's kept pretty up-to-date. The new BLF GTvn2 from Vinh will now take the top spot for LED at ~ 2800m throw.

If modded lights are included the Syniosbeam beats the gtvn2 by a lot

For production, Lemax LMX70 Super

The Syniosbeam is neat, but it isn't hand-held.

Worth it to note, the Acebeam T21 vn Oslon is the current single 18650 and dual 18650 throw king, the largest belt/duty light with nearly 700k candela.

for stock

For stock lights, and comparable to all others, the Astrolux mf04 is top for LED, but doesnt fo anything special for it's size, just really big.

What is the best way to categorize the list of throwers? For example, does anybody have it broken down by battery type and number? Say single 18650 throwers, 3 x 18650 throwers, 1 x 26650 thrower, etc?
