Just saw this on the illumination gear website. I sure don't need it but I ordered one anyway. Got the pro model. Can't find any voltage or current specifications for this. Any thoughts?

Very impressive, the HI flavour is very tempting! However i can not find CT info, i would not want to go above 5000k, ideally 4000-5000k would be great. Ones i have (4500k HD and 4500k/5000k HI's) are all very nice.

For $40, its a good amount of kick a55 ...................i likey.
Voltage is 2.7v -9v, so very flexible if want to run 1 or 2 cells
Amps wise, it does state tail cap that can handle 5a+, so would presume around 5a give/take.

Nice it is to id30209, going to do some testing out if get chance(bicep tare and raining=not best lol) . It seems close to 4000k on my sample, certainly compared next to the ZL HI 4500k anyway, that is made to look pure white next to it. The sportac more of a golden edge and noticeably warms my hand up(and light objects)when aimed at.

Mine does not like 16650 fuel, blinks and retains a lower level, no matter how many times i try and change mode. Using with 2x 18350 10a cells, works perfect and very bright(as expected). Also works fine with 10a 18650, however i feel at least a 30Q(15a) is better suited if you want to use 100% when the voltage is drained some. The low of 13% or around 250lm is super useful do it all level.................well 95% do it all . The 100% is of course bright! Hard to compare next to ZL as both quite intense at 3m, ZL broader spill. Its close and within 200lm either way as a guess. If your happy with the sc600 HI , you should be happy with this.

Out of my ?? sportacs(off top of my head, 6 or 7) its the 1st reflector one i have. Others are all triples, 219b x4, 219c x2 and xp-g2 x 1 iirc

Next to the m61, pretty much exact shape shell, so will fit where the m61 fits!

Narrow head design does not effect beam much if any to my eyes, just a tad less spill maybe. Plenty of usable all round light anyway, would say best for uses past 30ft or so.

Recommend any way if anyone on the fence so to speak, its a nice little drop in. Just be aware it might not like standard body surefires(not bored). Not actually tried on 2x 16340 high drains as being honest, run times is bordering useless anyway. But would imagine they should be fine.

This was ordered by the boss around a week back, illuminationGear are always on the ball. Here in or around a week!! Fantastic stuff.

Cheers

Ooooooooo...can't wait to get mine! Soon. And now i've noticed it's available at Nkon.nl also... faster for us in this part of the world.

Drop some beamshoots when you catch some time!

Thx

Sportac thrower, nice!
Beam looks good to me.
Battery wise, XHP35 is 12V emitter but since it's designed for 1 or 2 liion's, driver needs amps to convert to 12V (boost).
That's why 16650 won't do good here.
High drain is a must so 18650 would be highly recommended.

Looks promissing[emoji1690]

Yes, was hoping i would get away with 16650 as i do with other triples and quads(brighter). Even on 16650, guess good for around 5a and know i wont get full output. But then the quad(or triple) on 16650 is BRIGHT. Did not think a GA and 16650 would have made that much difference, just a touch less output...................

GA do work fine, not tested when down to 3,6 type volts.

Its a nice beam anyway, nothing ground breaking and for me a more usable type. Compared to crazy intense hot spots that blind under 100ft anyway.

ZL broader spill, sportac seems more intense.

Also just tried the M2 which is not bored, 16650 and getting both modes no problem. So initial findings appear to be leaning towards the standard 6p tail cap(twisty UI).

So after all that................16650 do work, it does have a 10a switch in the m2.

Yeap, visibly tighter. But the reason is bigger reflector isn't it?

Waiting to get mine is so frustrating[emoji30][emoji30]

They are about the same diameter to the eye, sportac a little deeper and smooth. ZL is very slight OP. Also with the M2, it sits further in the head, that has a little impact as well. Tomorrow I will get a beam shot in the z44 , as it will sit closer to the lens.

I have noticed after a little use(presumably part due to voltage dropping a bit) there is a step down from 100%.This occurs withing a few seconds of use. Not sure exact output difference, but its noticeable in step down. Its higher than the 13% level by a good bit anyway. So if 100% output is required a lot, 2x 18350 or 18650 high drain is certainly the best option over 16650 . Just a note....

I was just thinking about what you said earlier about how 16650 couldn't light it up so i did some research. XHP35 requires 12V and 1A so if you use 1 cell driver needs 3A at least from that cell to run. So if you have partially depleted 16650 then protection will kick in due to voltage sag.
This drop in requires strong 18650 or even better 2x18350 to run without much drop in output. I'd guess if you use 1 cell then amps over driver will rise so heat will accumulate instantly which will cause to engage overtemp protection to kick in thus causing reduced output.
No wonder it has a voltage range 2-9V...
I'd try 2 liion setup to see if i'm right[emoji851]

Its a naked 16650, i wont use protected on this. I am sure its simply because it cant give the amps required. Its not a huge drop, defo not heat as its within a few seconds from cold.

Any 10a 18650 and above is fine, 2x18350 is fine(i have 10a).

Reason before was simply a contact issue and/or the twisty UI cap as that is original surefire(not replaced clicky in that ). When i swapped caps for one with a 10a switch, it worked with same battery no issue. Just tail caps swapped, nothing else if makes sense.

Thanks for posting this, I was looking at this drop-in but was on the fence since I have so many other P60 drop-ins.

I was thinking that I need to upgrade my SF switches to ensure this drop-in can draw enough power - are you using McClicky switches or did you upgrade to another switch, such as the Judco one that I saw in a WTS thread?

Edit: I just looked up the max current draw for McClicky switches and it looks like 4A... so it looks like upgrading the switch is required for run this drop-in.
