I actually spray Zirconium on piston’s and engine parts. It’s easy to work with when it’s coming out of a plasma gun😁

Will you be the appraiser on antique roadshow when these hard users bring in their Zirc torches to be valued ?

I did speak with the machinist about zirc back when the titanium run was done and brought it up to him again last week… so waiting on a quote from him. I don’t remember what he quoted a few years back as I think I passed out. He is also looking into… another metal for me. That I’ll keep to myself as I just don’t know the possibility of even getting it right now.

or OR OR! how about 8-9 carat gold? wouldn't even be that expensive, you could probably machine it out from $1000 worth of raw materials

Damascus might be cool depending on how the patterns showed up. Yep, we are dreaming

uhm... I mean...

That is a work of art............... impressive...... I am hoping for an impressive tool.... OK, any HDS besides Aluminum is venturing in a bit of bling/ jewelry.

I do enjoy the special metal HDS lights........ But at the heart it is still a HDS tool. They just look nice and feel better.

Monel alloy is just as good)) It is almost nothing to fear from chemical influences, and on top of it is covered with a thin layer of gold and then rhodium. Gold is needed so that rhodium does not have cracks in the surface.

And that nickel-titanium alloy - SM-100 (Nitinol)

rhodium? That blade has that in it?

I'm probably a little confused by everyone, pure metal can be coated with rhodium

The blade is already an alloy of titanium and nickel, quite difficult to process and expensive, this does not apply to rhodium in any way. This is the same material that has memory))
