When I checked the date of receipt of the email, I received a shipping notification 8 weeks after ordering. It seems that it may be delayed depending on the timing of ordering.
 
Two cents: If you're in a hurry for an HDS light, scour the various B/S/T threads either here or on Facebook. Based on Hogo's "Shop Tour" thread here in this subforum, I doubt highly that HDS has a shelf full of completed, in-stock standard configuration models ready to ship. Some like the special metals runs take longer than others, but getting ready to assemble parts, completing assembly, calibration, etc come at the cost of supporting small shop, U.S. based businesses. Given the complexity of that chain, paitence is a virtue. If they are waiting on o-rings, say, and have every other part in stock, you may get lucky if you place an order the day o-rings arrive.

Thanks for info. I’m in no hurry, rather buy direct from manufacturer anyway. Just wasn’t sure about times because when you choose a different led or something it’ll say 2wks, 5wks, etc. there is nothing shown for stock models so wasn’t sure what that’s all about
 
I got my 2700K rotary in hand now. I saw some spots of something on the LED dome. Is there something wrong with the LED that would be a concern?

Cosmic imperfection or detraction from pride of ownership?

It was very interesting to read from Hogo about the significant variability of emitters that are classified as identical production. My guess is that particular LED passed factory inspection as is, and since HDS calibrates each flashlight, the light given is the light guaranteed.

Nothing wrong with the beam or light itself that I can see. Just wondering if that scratch, or whatever it is, could be an issue for the longevity of the LED. Here's a pic. It's been my EDC since I got it.

As an option, you can open the reflector, take some cotton wool and soak it with saliva and gently try to wipe off this dirt. But be very careful, otherwise you can scratch the silicone even more. Somehow I bought several Chinese lanterns for friends and noticed spots in the beam. It turned out that there were droplets of hot glue on the dome. I also wiped it off with a cotton swab and the beam became clean.
 
That is a nice HDS, and I would not take a chance on accidentally touching the reflector. There is no amount of cleaning that can be done to take it off.
The reflector does not need to be touched, only the diode. Seem to be I didn't write exactly, you don't need to open the reflector, but unscrew the reflector with the bezel so that it's like this. The reflector will be safe

What is on the diode here can be both scratches and traces of thermal paste and a piece of adhesive tape or some kind of film. Until you unscrew and look under a magnifying glass, you can't say for sure

It's like clean binoculars, you can clean everything, or you can ruin everything

Thanks for that information. If I'm feeling brave enough one day I may do that. The light works perfectly though, and I assume it's been calibrated to account for any effect that spot may have on the lumen output.

If I do open it up, should I just try rubbing the LED dome with an alcohol wipe to see if that removes the spot? Not sure how delicate the dome is.

I used 95% medical ethyl alcohol, everything was fine. But it takes very little for the cotton wool to be barely damp.
I did this with regular cotton wool or a cotton disc for female faces. Alcohol wipes can scratch, I learned this from an expensive monitor and lint-free alcohol wipes that were intended for optics and screens

Great to see such nice flashlights. Canned air can be used for dust on reflectors. One should be careful to keep the can upright when using it, thinking. That is such an excellent design; keeping the reflector separate from the emitter.
 
When I was looking for a suitable picture for the previous previous message, at first I did not notice, but now I noticed the intestines of the old osram golden dragon. The inside is also beautiful, never seen before. I looked at this controller, even if you buy in bulk, I guess henry tests them as carefully as he tests diodes and the part goes to the trash, right?
