I really dig that long blade with the hamon line. That is one cool blade! Do you have a little history on it?
Ah well it's been my work knife for a few years.
Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan Limited, Blue Steel No.1 Suminagashi Kiritsuke Yanagiba
Made in Sakai, japan.Japan.
270mm blade. Blue steel is high carbon steel, chosen for its hardness and edge retention.
This knife will crack and chip cutting anything hard, even vegetables. It is ONLY meant to cut flesh. It has the same edge geometry as a scalpel for surgery.
When I cut fish with this knife, I'm impressed every time!
It is only sharpened on a 8000 grit water stone, a kitayama stone. Planning on a natural stone, roughly 6000 to 10000 grit, but those are pricey for sure.

A 6” custom made by Canjo Ruiz Diaz, a regular vendor at the San Telmo weekend market in Buenos Ares, Argentina, made from the leaf spring of a truck + red stag handle. The black leather & cayman shealth is awesome too…tight fit with no strap…you can invert it and shake it a bit and the knife stays inside
