When you get done with all the gravel, here's a little unit to toss all that gravel to the side ...

Not exactly $7K but at least it's green, right? The 2025 Cadillac CTS-V 6.2L V8 SC 10spd Auto:

Chauncey's Green Machine. Yeah, baby.

Of course, you'll need a bottle of the '61 after every drive. And have to order and install another ton of gravel every other weekend, to correct what this bad boy delivers. You're on your own, pal. '61 and all. :giggle:

Money doesn't buy happiness, but it does buy a Mercedes Maybach S650, which would make me happy.
They say you shouldn't ever meet your heroes. Perhaps this could be true with aspirational cars.

I actually drove a 2018 Maybach as a daily driver for a few months at the beginning of this year. The best way to describe it is "effortless." The car does everything you ask of it, without any indication of effort. A very pleasant place to be, especially on the highway.

At the same time, I regret to report that Mercedes, even their Maybachs, aren't built like they used to. The little foam wedge between the seat and center console is gone in this model. They used to have this in many of their cars to prevent items from falling between the seats. Likewise, the S-Class series before this had magnetic door holders. When you'd open the door, it'd hold it open at any angle, no detents like most cars. That's not in this model.

The current S-class model has even more cost cutting throughout. Physical buttons have been replaced with capacitive touch sensors, some of the trim parts are omitted, especially in areas where people aren't likely to notice.

Huh. So the Maybach has gone a bit down the cost-shaving path. That's depressing. One would think a company's top-end flagship model would be uncompromising to the last.
