Can't tell if USPS is lazy, incompetent, or understaffed. If my delivery drivers are any indication of great work ethic, I'm inclined to believe the facility is understaffed.

It is my humble opinion that managers and directors should NEVER benefit from streamlining staff. It becomes a conflict of interests when the people you hire to make things run smoother for cheaper are incentivized only to make things run cheaper. It's like cutting off your limbs to reduce friction or drag in a foot race. Sure, no drag. But how the hell are you gonna run?

In my area, we've been critically understaffed for like a decade.

The issue is, you HAVE TO start off as a part-time carrier, and you work until a regular route opens from someone quitting, retiring, or transferring. You get no benefits during that time, and are often not guaranteed hours. At one point, there was like a 10+ year estimated wait time for a full route to become available. If people worked in the cities, you could maybe get that do about 5 years.

Shockingly, no one is interested in working part-time with no benefits or guaranteed hours FOR YEARS ON END, hoping to move into a full-time position.

Also, they start the day sorting their mail, and if there are delays, that's often unpaid overtime.

Just a very tough job, and then they're a convenient scapegoat for politicians looking to move public outrage about the government onto someone else...and they become and easy target for politicians to "get tough on government waste."

I'm no fan of the government, but it always struck me as odd that there's so much political demonization of probably the most useful agencies in the government. Despite the short staffing in my area, they're still better than FedEx. Not as good as UPS.

...Also, and I am TRYING to order another (more like a spare) headlamp! There's a trio of outlet HP30R v2's at a local E-tailer. ~130 USD each, and I want one!
Already have a HP30R v2, and it's everything I want in a headlamp.

But the payment window is just spinning and spinning and not connecting. I forgot that particular site doesn't like Firefox, so I would have to use Chrome.
Not an issue in itself, except I am trying to order a mini tripod (of which there is only 1 in stock) for my macro DSLR as well, and the item is now "registered" to me.

Already contacted customer support.
I cannot cancel it to re-buy, and the site doesn't even have a "pay now" option in the order details. >-<

EDIT:
Custom support fixed the issue, so that's the Fenix HP30R and 2x Coman MT50 mini-tripods on the way.
One in Red for me, and one Black for a friend of mine.

It's a Lumenite II-P, and yes, FrazLabs now does engraving!

MUCH fanfare and applause to the FrazLabs team @TheFraz and @speckacuda , I will eventually be following up with a review; maybe I'll let my inheritors review this light instead, as this light very well may outlast me by a few generations.

Immediately dropped in a 3000K 519A to replace the 4000k Samsung...it's a bit dimmer, but the warm white is a welcome touch.

Another headlamp arrived, another nitecore but smaller lighter . The HA27 UHE is cheap as chips this one, but seems decent with the cool, neutral and warm option, along with up to 800lm (I tend to use a 1/4 of this level ).
Decent heat sink, also battery box with a nitecore battery , these can be bought for about £12. The battery box with battery removed, fits 3x AAA. The lumens drop but adds a lot of flexibility .

The stove needs to be completely removed from the fireplace to R/R the motor .... it's getting heavier every year.

could you put it on a locking sled/rails, and would that still be safe/up to code?

Back to the thread title, I'd prefer to shop at the local Brick n Mortar establishment, but I just can't bring myself to pay $140 for that auger motor when it will be delivered to our home for $59.44. The draft switch, $64 verses $27.53.

Hence the reason they're in the mail.
