Clearly there has been a misunderstanding between us.
We both know about 18650s, and 21700s.
Is the latter a genuine advancement from the former? Yes.
Is it a huge one? No. Not even remotely. At least not from what I've experienced.
Personally, having used both types of cells in different lights made for them....
I decided awhile back to switch back to 18650s. Two reasons why.
One, didn't experience a huge difference between 21700s compared to 18650s.
Whether we're talking runtime or output.
Two, missed that dual-fuel capability that 18650s have with CR123 primaries.
Something you lose with 21700s.
Fair enough, #2 doesn't apply to power-tool batteries. But #1, does.
And again, my main point was keeping the voltage the same.
That way, existing customers don't have to buy new batteries if they don't want to.
But I see now that THAT aspect wasn't what you were focusing on.
