    I've wondered about this also. It seems to me if a lthium battery vents inside a flashlight the pressure buildup would cause an explosion, or at the very least the led and lens to pop off. So I would say its probably less safe than an external charger. There are probably a lot of forum members...

    I didn't like the tight fit of the nitecore battery even though it was working. Swapped it with a panasonic 18650b from my old original sc600. Much better fit.

    Possibly the worst 18650s around - 9800mAh(!) UltraFire

    Funny, I just went on eBay to check them out and there's all kinds of 9800mah batteries on there now. Even found some that are called "gtf led flashlight expert". Must be an ultrafire spinoff. Pretty soon the Chinese will be breaking the 10,000 milliamp barrier.
