Recently released Olight Classic 2 Pro

September 14, 2002 - I just ordered two more ... just because ... and Olight Canada is already sold-out of the nice copper-washed one. I got another green one, and that lame clay-coloured one. Great future gifts! Can anybody suggest a cheap compatible modest solar panel (on Amazon or at...

Recently released Olight Classic 2 Pro

Thanks. And it's also turned-out to be the most wonderful bedside lamp! 1. It's short, and the (very expensive-feeling) rotary switch/rheostat is on its base ... at the perfectly optimal bed-level height. Just reach-out and it falls "readily to hand". 2. The switch is silent, so you don't...

Recently released Olight Classic 2 Pro

Thanks for "chiming in" ... and yes I "get" it about the proprietary (unreplaceable) battery ... which I think is based on four 18650 cells. The main reason that I bought the new-generation Fenix BC30 (which I love) for my bicycle is the simple fact that it uses a couple of...

Recently released Olight Classic 2 Pro

The lantern arrived yesterday, and I am totally impressed. Definitely worth the money ... the way the lighting is arranged is tomorrow's state-of-the-art LED technology, today. It is amazing how far LED lighting has come. The lamp is physically a bit smaller than you might expect, but that in...

    The just-new Fenix BC30 V2.0 bike light

Hi Doug, I can't comment on the issue of the light going dark on bumpy terrain ... I don't have much reason (so far, anyways) to ride at night. Right now, it's main purpose is to make me more visible in busy urban settings during daylight hours. The remote switch is Bluetooth technology ...

    The just-new Fenix BC30 V2.0 bike light

Another member PM'd me for a bit more info re: my first impressions. I replied to him, and figured that I might as well post it here as well ... ************************************** Everything about this bike light impresses me. In the last seven or eight years I've bought several Fenix...

    The just-new Fenix BC30 V2.0 bike light

The light arrived about a week ago, and I couldn't be happier ... superb build-construction ... everything works as advertised ... I believe that it is all that "most people" would ever need. Best of all ... it gave me the famous "Wranglerstar Fizz" ... Plus, it'll make an excellent flashlight...

    The just-new Fenix BC30 V2.0 bike light

Hi Guys, I believe that one of these new Fenix BC30 V2.0 bike lights in "in the mail" to me, and was wondering if anyone else has received theirs yet ... and if so, what they thought of it. Many thanks!

Why aren't there double AA Headlamps?

Why aren't there double AA Headlamps?

I suspect that Petzl will be making their 3xAAA basic Tikka and Tikkina for quite a while to come. Their new 2017 models are great value for the dollar, and comfy, and do most basic lighting jobs just fine. I appreciate and use the handy red LED in my Tikka.

Clear Nalgene water bottle and your headlamp :)

Hi Guys, Mountain Equipment Co-op in Canada is based on the REI model in the United States. Been around for decades ... :) I just saw a cool new hint on their website, but cannot seem to share it right now ... Super simple ... take off your headlamp when you're bedded-down and don't expect...

Replacing ten year old Petzl, what to get?

I bought the new 2017 Petzl Tikka from MEC (Mountain Equipment Co-op) here in Canada during the last week of December. Probably got one of the first ones. I was so impressed that I immediately ordered a second one. It is a huge bargain, basically the same price as last year's model with double...

    Value of Interchangeability - AAA

If I took a Biolite stove on a backpacking trip, it would pretty-well cancel-out the easy-carrying benefits of a lightweight little AAA headlamp like the swell new Petzl Tikka. But I must admit that you can cook on the Biolite ... :)
