    Yes I think it's slowly sinking in for most people, unfortunately there will always be some who think they can do what they like...     It would seem it steps down to 50% (about 2500 lumens) after a few minutes, I presume you can step it back up each time it drops.... or until excessive heat or low battery voltage take effect?
