    Double posting.....

Thank you for making me aware of the double posting rule. I'll make a point not to do so again. I consider CPF a great resource.

    Pila GL4.................

greenLED- That is excactly what I had read and what my initial question was based on. kakster(Thank you, kakster)pretty much answered my question by explaining that rechargeables purposefully cut off(i.e. no power)which would explain no LED's either. I am assuming that with cr123's the...

    Pila GL4.................

[ QUOTE ] kakster said: It's the Pila cells. They have a protection circuit that cuts off the power once the cells have drained down to a certain voltage. [/ QUOTE ] -So if I were to use regular cells (cr123's) the flashlight would continue to produce light, via LED's, until the very end?

    Pila GL4.................

-Thank you picard. The wolf-eyes does look quite similar. -Paul_in_Maryland, sometimes all I see is LED. I'll try incandescents. I lived in Silver Spring for many years......

    Pila GL4.................

I have read that once the baterries are drained to the point where they will no longer run the incandescent bulb, the flashlight will stop working; that the LED's will not use whats left of the batteries to continue to power the flashlight. Is this accurate? And if so, are all models the same...

    HDS EDC switch question

[ QUOTE ] jayflash said: So the MIDDLE of the HDS is supposed to be unscrewed to replace the cell? Mine won't and the O-ring or whatever seal is in there must have gotten cut because rubber is sticking out of the midline seam. [/ QUOTE ]Yes jayflash, the Led half of the HDS unscrews exposing...

    HDS EDC switch question

When opening up my U60 to swap the battery, the switch end started to unthread. I was unaware that I could do this. Anyway, after reassembly my switch/button was slightly domed. I thought "Great, what have I done now?". After living with that condition for a few days (more difficult actuation &...

Rechargeables, lithiums, etc. for 3x3 watt......?

I just purchased a Nuwai 3x3 watt 3-D cell flashlight from amondotech.com (good service & prices). It's a rugged flashlight with decent throw. I've seen posts that have said damage has occurred to their LED's when using rechargeables. I'm interested in safely maximizing output from this light...

    Gladius vs. U2......if only one?

[ QUOTE ] McGizmo said: Beyond similar price levels and state of the art "cool factors", I am curious as to what similarities in these two, dissimilar lights (IMHO), the thread originator might be assuming? These two lights are LED based and have variable output levels and use 2xCR123's. Beyond...

    Gladius vs. U2......if only one?

Ok CPF'ers... If I have resigned myself to the price tag on both and if I call the size & weight comparison a wash and if the warranty issue on the Gladius is not an issue to me (Big if) then which shall it be? In my mind I see 5 watt vs. 3 watt & strobe vs. no strobe. Thank you for your patience.
