To answer your question - I hope not. Primaries do have a use. For example the flashlights in my car use lithium primaries. Otherwise I use 18650s 21700s. 14500s and eneloops. But, I'm a grandfather and AA primaries are useful and convenient. After all I don't have the time and inclination to...
That's a good idea. We just had to change our old tumble dryer for a new one. The old one would Nuke stuff for an hour and it was dry. The new one is more gentle but takes almost 4 hours for a load of cottons. Then its not quite dry.
My tip is be so careful about where you buy batteries...
I put him on ignore months ago. My mental health has improved as a result. I really enjoy seeing other members' responses to him even though I have no idea what he said. I can guess though. However I don't think he's a poor guy. I'm guessing that he's being paid shedloads to keep posting...
All truly frightening. Thank you for posting, especially that you're posting the experiences of someone who actually fights fires IRL, not in his dreams. Ironic of course that CO2 is the boogy man of the moment.
Ps - I had a Surefire E1b defender years ago but I kept on dropping it. Where possible I keep the clip and lanyards to prevent this. On my smaller flashlight I use the Olight lanyard. On the bigger ones I use bigger lanyards.
Tex thank you. I'll give it a go. Not so keen on the magnetic tailcap though. I like to use a lanyard where possible and that does not work with the magnetic tc.
Just bought a new Lumintop Tool AA V3 that claims 900 lumens. I have the earlier version that I like a lot so this one should be a great pocket carry. A pity that the tailcap still glows blue but I can work around that.
I just got one of those and so far I'm pretty impressed.
I also have and like the Eagtac D25A, and Lumintop Tool AA. The Eagtac won't take some of my 14500s as they are too long at 53 mm. The Lumintop will.
My bedside light is a Thrunite Archer 1A V3, which has a great moonlight mode...
By all means have some Alkalines available but NOT stored in the flashlight. Your life might depend on having light when you need it. Lithium primaries for long term storage are a must. IIRC AA lithiums and CR123A lithiums are different chemistries.and the AAs are inherently safer than CR123A.
Had good results with XTAR branded plastic boxes. These take 2 batteries side by side. They don't rattle or pop open in normal use.
I bought some new ones last week but they arrived unbranded so I can't remember where I bought the originals.
I don't have a photo but they are (in millimeters)...
