    Melbourne Australia ( SPRING ) 2018

Not much response to this thread? I've lost contact with the CPF crew a bit but would be keen to catch up for another meet.

    Melbourne CPF 2016 winter/spring meet.

Each week is different for me but I'd be interested depending on when exactly you decided on.

    Melbourne CPF 2016 winter/spring meet.

I think this is where we were the last time I made a meeting. We did a late-night walk along the wall trying to see who could reach across the lake to the other side. This is a nice area and wood is provided for the BBQ/Fire pits. But Shepp could also work for me. I have family up that way...

Spark SX5 with separate battery pack and multiple battery configurations

All cells are parallel so any current applied will be split across whatever number of cells you have in the carrier. So you are correct, it would be 2A to a single cell and 0.5A to four. I don't have the "AC adaptor pack" and nor can I find much information about it. Is it a proper "charger"...

    Eneloop...questions.

Panasonic (Chinese) Eneloops are showing to be inferior to Sanyo (Japanese) varieties but you probably won't notice the difference for at least 400 cycles. There are some extensive test threads comparing the two if you are a purist. I'd prefer to get the Japanese ones (made by Fuji FDK) if...

Do they make an AA USB Power pack with an usb INPUT to top off while on the road?

Not sure if it can charge/discharge simultaneously. I'm hoping so but I've been searching for hard info on this for a while now. HKJ was apparently looking into testing them for us but so far I haven't seen any news from him. He's a pretty busy guy and it may not be a priority. I got a...

    Which is more efficient/has more power? 2 x 2aa USB Chargers or 1 x 4aa USB charger?

That particular 2AA (Fasttech/Amazon) pack is simply crap. I blew two of them in a few minutes charging a phone that draws only 500mA. The only thing I use the remaining ones for is running USB touch lights which draw less than 250mA. Don't waste your money.

Do they make an AA USB Power pack with an usb INPUT to top off while on the road?

I'm still waiting on delivery of some Soshine SC-EAA units from Fasttech. SKU 1523806. A little over US$10 ea. These take 4 AA cells and charge via USB. The specs show input at 1000mA (5V) but output is only 500mA. It seems to charge in pairs. https://www.fasttech.com/p/1523806 The Goal...

    NiMH rechargeables in Australia

Just looking at the options here, the Ikea Ladda Charger looks like a pretty good budget option. According to the PDF manual it charges AAs at 1000mA and AAAs at 500mA with -dV termination. I already have a C9000 so don't need this right now but it looks like an OK device. Apart from the slow...

    Thrunite Neutron 2A (1xAA/14500 2xAA) and 2C (1xRCR/18650 2xCR123A/RCR) 2014 Review

Ha Ha! Some of the Youtube "reviews" I've found when searching for stuff are even worse! :ohgeez:

    Thrunite Neutron 2A (1xAA/14500 2xAA) and 2C (1xRCR/18650 2xCR123A/RCR) 2014 Review

Due to your low number of posts I can't quite work out if this is sarcasm? I would definitely not be putting much trust in user ratings on Amazon. Unfortunately, a lot of Amazon users will be the type to just turn it on, see a bright light and give it a thumbs up. I've seen people post high...

Melbourne Australia next get together - Nov/Dec?

I was sorry to be unable to make it. Glad there was a CPF presence. Let's raise a glass at the next meetup.

Nice fellah. Only met him a few times but always friendly and helpful. Will be sadly missed.

Melbourne Australia next get together - Nov/Dec?

This thread has gone quiet. Have I missed a discussion somewhere else or did we all just get busy with other stuff?
