    Modern. 380 rounds vs 9mm

It is estimated that 90% of civilian defensive gun use does not involve firing a shot - displaying the firearm is all that is needed. If someone asks about concealed carry, I don't try to convince them to carry, in fact if anything I try to tell them the down sides. Concealed carry or even gun...

Is 18650 battery safe to use in a 2D incan light?

I would much prefer a protected cell probably a 26650 so that it makes contact with the D cell mag spring. I think one of the Lumencraft drop -ins that Sween recommended would be the way to go.

Each time I carry I pray that I will never have to use it - it's there if I need it but I sure don't want to use it if there is any way to avoid it.

are ppu hollow points good ammo? I have never use PPU hp's but I have shot some of their FMJ range ammo. For 9 mm I usually carry 124 grain +P HST.

I think that is the key. It matters much more if you can get the first hit in a vital area than what caliber or type of ammo you are using (within reason). Being able to shoot fast and accurately under stress will give you the advantage much more than what caliber gun you have. Any reasonable...

I think misses are more of a concern. In police shootings, it's typical for 4 out of 5 (80%) shots to miss the intended target completely. I don't know what the stats are for civilian shootings or if anyone even collects the data. Either way, you are responsible for every shot that comes out...

Giving gun owners a bad name is what concerns me most of all with these open carry clowns. Moms don't need to see these guys every time they take their kids shopping. Mas Ayoop has a vid on why you should "get the damn permit" in constitutional carry states: My state offers free a...

There are some real good deals out there on older used guns. For example old single stack S&W Shields are stupid cheap right now because most people want the newer higher capacit0y Shield Plus.

I have something like that. I got it for when I am wearing sweats in cooler weather. It is very small and dose not look like something you could even fit a gun in. I usually carry under a loose fitting T or sweat shirt so that no one can even see the fanny pack. I often leave it partially...

    Modern. 380 rounds vs 9mm

Its good that open carry is now legal in most states, but why would you want to open carry? On the range, hunting or on rural private land I can see open carry but I don't understand the guy in walmart with his flip-flops open carrying. I make an effort to always carry concealed in a way that...

The NYPD began phasing out the 12 pound "NY-2" trigger in 2021 in favor of the standard Glock 5.5 lb trigger after it was found that recruit qual scores increased by 5% with the lighter trigger.

The p211 looks like a competition gun, for carry I would pass on it. While I like thumb safeties for concealed carry, I don't like grip safeties at all - too easy to safety yourself if you get a poor grip under stress. Also I wouldn't want a comp or a big flared mag well on a carry gun.

there's lots of unsafe holsters. For striker fired pistols that lack manual safeties (not counting the trigger dingus), I consider a properly fitted quality kydex/polymer holster to be the primary safety. These pistols are very unforgiving if you are not extremely careful 100% of the time - I...

They know. they warn you about shooting a comped gun from retention:

    - if you fire from retention, you'll get a blast in the eyes from the comp. - in low light, a comp will kill your adapted vision. - comps are loud. you can damage your hearing if you fire in a enclosed place. - in 9 mm, comps don't really do much to reduce muzzle flip/recoil.
