Simple. I don't want any skin oils getting on the pristine copper. :)
I can't speak for copper roofs (honestly, I didn't know that was a thing here), but we do have some copper piping in the house, and that does NOT look very nice.
I was looking at copper gutters though...but stopped when I saw a single length (4 meters / 13 feet) would be equivalent of 1100 USD. And we would need 9 lengths to cover the house on both sides. They did offer 10 extra years of warranty over the steel ones (20 -> 30 years) though. But we went with steel ones in white, at 45 USD per length.
And polishing a flashlight is not a task I intend to ever do. Goodness, if I am ever asked that question from a friend. "So, what did you do last weekend?" - and if my answer had to be "not much, I was polishing the shaft", he would physically back away from me, and rightfully so.
Aluminium lights (as the vast majority is) are fine, and most of mine don't even see that much use honestly, but I am leaning heavily (literally) into titanium for EDC, simply for the fact that titanium (almost) doesn't care about what it is exposed to. Just something I find reassuring.
That only comes from CPF/flashaholic. .... :)
