Was looking at the KD triple drop-ins and noticed the drivers must be different because they listed 'double tap' for Turbo.
never had a drop-in that had that, so ordered one up in 4000K xp-l hi

When I first got it, noticed that the tint was nice,, really nice because I never bought anything in the 4000K range.
It isn't the annoying yellow of some VERY popular emitters claiming some crazy CRI.
..nope, it's way better from CREE here, more like a light amber,,really nice

Second thing that stood out was the genuine moon mode,, I saw zero PWM and that from firing 3 emitters, impressive thing to do
Last, it does have a double tap for Turbo, slightly tricky to do, but it's there.

I'm not some big KD fanboy, na, just rather impressed with this one.

Do you have a link to the one described? I have a 6p, but haven't found a drop in to make me use it regularly.
 
Hey, just an FYI for all you P60 lovers out there looking for some good drop-ins with some of the latest and greatest emitters, Eagtac's AliExpress store is now selling their 2-mode Sportac drop-in with the SFT-25R; in both cool white and neutral. I'd assume that's 6500K and 5000K respectively. Ali item 2255800807857795. The summer sale is going on at the moment, so there are coupons to shave a few bucks off. I think the Eagtac import fees are like $5, now, so it's close to about $50 out the door to the U.S.
You can also get the 519A in cool, neutral, and warm if you're not looking for something so throwy.

The 3V XHP50.3 HI is an interesting option for 3P configurations. That's going to be a LOT of light from a single cell.

If anyone likes 3 emitter configurations, item 3256801767242224 is the Sportac 3x emitter, and they now have the 519A in 4500K. Item 2255800038280215 has 3x 219B in 4500K for about $10 less if anyone prefers that.

I spent the last few days hemming and hawing, and opted against any of the new emitters, but figured I'd point it out to any of you guys who aren't so religiously following the Sportac AliExpress offerings (so....everyone else, haha).

Just for the record, my 2 currently most-used/grabbed 'P60' lights both use the latest(?) single-emitter Sportac 1/2-output version drop-ins; one SST-20 'R9 CRI95' 4000K, and one 519A 4500K. So far, I expect those modules to remain in those lights indefinitely;-) I will just add that they came from an excellent U.S. distributor.

I haven't seen the SFT-25R or 519A's at any of the US people, but the one site I found them in the U.S. wasn't really loading for me, hahahaha.
 
I must be behind the times. I currently have a 6P with a Malkoff M61 with Nichia 219A sitting in the safe. I just don't want to use it too much.

I have another 6P host with a standard P60 bulb that I want to put a drop in module but haven't found anything of interest yet. I will have to research into these 519 leds. Then again I see how expensive these 6P hosts can be LoL (have 6 of them in various configurations.)

Those sportac ones look promising but I had one a long time ago and ended up selling it due to not liking the wall of light.

If you just want some budget options to try out, Kaidomain ones are...acceptable, and you can often add an 18650 or 21700 host for under $10 extra. It's not the best host in the world (painted with low quality paint that chips easily, very sharp edges, no interchangeability with most other hosts), but for the <$10 they are, they can be fantastic. The drop-ins are usually under $15, too, so you can try out a bunch before committing to a more expensive option.

Alternatively, Lumens Factory sells mirror reflector 519A drop-ins that are more like a series of overlapping, concentric hotspots.
You can pick up the LF drop-in with the SP6-M for under $10 more than the bare drop-in (thought, I think that's the orange peel one, which is a central hotspot with diffused spill), and then you have what I'd say is a very nice (the nicest Chinese host I've had), modular host that can use either 18650 or 18350 cells. The sell both 1 and 3 mode variants.

And, for what it's worth, I think only the 3x drop-ins create that "wall of light" effect. I'm a bit with you on those...I'm not sure that's my favorite, haha. GREAT if you're just walking, and want to see EVERYTHING on the ground within a reasonable distance, but kind of awful if you're trying to look DOWN the path, haha.

I doubt you'll have any issues and it's a pretty good price. I think something like a convoy m1 is a better purchase though. Same basic size but made to be led. Unless you really need to make a current 6p into a led light

And you'll get it in 10 days, not 3 months

I think I have fifteen Surefire that takes P60 and like them. I will order and try.

Yes. You don't want to use anything with adhesive. You're much better off just using metal. It was a long time ago, but I do remember. Plain aluminum foil works better than copper with adhesive
