What was the last LED light you purchased and why?

flat or raised
ime w D3AA the Flat Switch Ring is perfect.. It is still taller than the rubber button, and the light will Not turn on when the switch ring is pressed against a table. It is very similarly recessed, and feels very similar in actual use, to a Zebra switch.

otoh, imnsho the Raised switch ring is overkill, makes using the switch unpleasant, for me..

note Metal switches do not offer a choice of Ring height, they do not work w the Rings for Rubber buttons.

if you dont know which Switch Ring you prefer, an easy way to find out is to order Both Flat and Raised. Be sure to also order the Switch Ring Removal Tool Hank Offers ;-)

Nice... brand new Emisar DA1 is ordered.

Went for the NTG50 LED in 4200K. (green body.)

Had to go for the $30 Fedex shipping, as the free shipping would have taken up to a month.

Update Nov.3,2025: The DA1 has landed.

I believe you could have ordered from jlhawaii808 as well, but if i recall properly, both of my intloutdoor lights arrived within 3 weeks.

My recent purchases:
  • Nitecore SRT7i - has an impressive spot with a nice spill surrounding it, too bad the strobe is done on the High setting instead of the Turbo.
  • Convoy S2+ Titanium with SFT40 @5000K - unbreakable, I'll keep it for the Apocalipse.
  • Convoy S2+ Brass with 519A @5700K - heavy and shining, very fancy looking.
  • Convoy S2+ Copper with B35AM @5700K - heavy, but it runs cooler than the others from above, probably due to the copper acting as a heatsink.
  • PNI F810 - a big a$$ flashlight with a huge COB LED in front (apparently 12,000 lumens), two serialized batteries type 26650 (2S1P), double O-rings on tail-cap and a weight close to 1 Kg that can easily "promote" it to a self-defense bat-o-flashlight. On the Turbo setting it easily outshines the 4.500 lumens delivered on the ceiling by my three LEDVANCE SMART+ light bulbs.

So,...have you ever purchased a light you weren't REALLY sure you even wanted, knew it wouldn't be all that bright, but thought...."meh, what the hell", and just bought it? That was me today. Wurkkos FC11 in 4000K, with green body. smh

Just ordered the Tactile Turn Apollo, im having it sent to a guy that'll put in a 519a, hopefully triple 519a, new driver.

This warm light Wizard is my favorite EDC and I misplaced it the other day. It didn't take long to cave in and get a new one. Then I found the one that was lost.
I am pretty sure subconsciously I wanted a backup anyway.

I'm not into knives much, but DANG that is some nice wood on that one you have!! I'd be totally fine if you would gift it to me!! hehe j/k

TT apollo. IMO one, if not the best looking 14500 ive ever seen.

14500 is my favorite size, perfect for the pocket. I have plenty of 18650 for duration and brightness, at home, in jeep, backpack, and stashed all over my house.
